Tallangatta Health Service District Nurses
Our District Nurse team is comprised of highly qualified nurses devoted to the care of older people in the Tallangatta community and surrounding areas.

Home visits are vital for many community members to maintain their independence, while having their overall health supervised by trained and caring staff. This service operates seven days a week.

Who is eligible for care?
Nursing services are offered to anyone requiring home based nursing care. Community members that would like to use the service are required to be assessed. Referrals can be made by your doctor.

People who receive benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Workcover or Transport Accident Commission can also be referred to the service.

When will a nurse call?
Following referral to the service a nurse will phone to make an appointment for an initial visit. This visit can take up to an hour. Carers are encouraged to be in attendance at this appointment as a plan of care is developed during this time. Subsequent visits will be made on nominated days, depending on needs. However, a specific appointment cannot always be made.
